What is it?

Multiplayer LAN for Phun is basically a game of ragdoll vs ragdoll vs ragdoll as many as your keyboard can fit. You create a level (Types will be discussed later) and then either leave it blank or add some traps. There are a few different variations for rules but they are usually the same in most games. Now when I say LAN I mean same keyboard and computer.

What you need

Mostly you need a couple of friends to play. But, you need a destructible and controllable ragdoll. Which is rather simple to construct. Here are the steps.

  1. First Spawn a ragdoll on the screen, or use your own it doesn't really matter.
  2. Then, you highlight the whole thing and right click. Then go down to hinges and choose Impulse break limit. The lower the number the easier the break. I would suggest 0.5
  3. After this, highlight the ragdoll again and right click. Then go the Geometries menu and choose controller. Choose your preferred type e.g. W,A,S,D or the arrow keys. And leave the controller speed alone.
  4. Highlight the head of the Ragdoll and then go to Geometries. Then after this you change controller speed to full or 20. This will allow your ragdoll to have a proper heading instead of simply moving as a large lump.
  5. Do this with each. Change the controller each time so there is more than one player.
  6. To finish. Color each ragdoll a different color, making sure it doesn't mix with the background and then your done.

There now wasn't that easy?

Levels

A level is what makes or breaks a multiplayer game. Yeah its fun having to try and follow the ragdolls around when you fly off the screen. But to remedy this. All you have to do is make a plane covering each side. One on the bottom, top and sides. This is rather easy part of the process. After wards you can make different sorts of contraptions to try and knock your friends into, so they die easier. These levels can be as simple or as complicated as you want them to be.

There are a few different types of levels

Open Ended

The open ended level is the most simple level, it has one plane with no sides. Can be straight or on a slant. And can be used well with a starter (Explained later) The bad thing about an Open ended level. You will be losing the ragdolls a lot off the screen so it isn't for those who like a fast paced game. There are variations. You could have a roof but no sides or a roof and sides but no floor. Its still open ended. Traps aren't all effective in this type of level.

Closed

The closed level is the opposite of the open ended. The four sides are closed with planes so there is no escape. Not so good with Starters but there are rather good traps can be made here.

Starters and Traps

Traps and starters are components of a level. They make a game more fun and exciting. A starter is simply something that can cause instant death or being trapped. Such as a whole range of spikes above the players or maybe a large box to crush them. A trap is a device that will destroy or immobilize a player.

Rules

Rules of Play

  1. If a player looses their head or are broken in half. They are out of the game and must move away from the keyboard.
  2. If a player is immobilized, they may try and free themselves. But they are deemed 'Out of Play' If the other players die, and the immobilized player wins, the win is passed to the last living player.
  3. IF a player is sent flying into the air, they are not allowed to control the ragdoll while they fly. And must wait till the become fully stopped on the ground.
