Sure, it's rough-around-the-edges, and it follows pretty much none of the Mac's interface or key-combination conventions, but it's sure a fun (with an F) toy. Phun is Universal Binary, and freeware.

No. There is no .JPG to Phun converter. But that's not to say you can't convert your .JPG to Phun, but it will take some work. Here's how:
1.) Your best bet is (probably) to get an image editor (like GIMP) and convert it to a .BMP (adobe photoshop will work too, but costs $$$)
2.) Edit the image so there's well defined shapes and remove the background.
3.) Get inkscape (it is the best I know of) and use the "Trace .BMP" function to convert the image to .SVG format. You'll have to look for the option, I can't recall exactly where it is right now.
4.) Use SVG2PHUN2 to convert it to .PHN format. I have heard that SVG2PHUN2 may be a little buggy and if you don't get the desired results perhaps the older version may suit your needs a little better.
All of the software I mentioned (except Adobe) is 100% free and easy to find (google). It's a little bit of a lengthly process to convert the image and get it right, but nothing good comes without a little time and effort.

About apps for macs...... My Dad, the professional programmer, has agreed to write me a set of apps for converting images to .phn format! Yay! No guarantees about when he'll finish it, but it will be done eventually!

Looking forwards to that. Do you know which image formats he will use?
