Radians are used in Adobe Flash but most developers calculate the radians using the Math function to convert degrees into radians so flash can read and rotate the object. Maybe if phun did the same. Save the angle as degrees (in a simple form 1.23456 as to not over complicate things for the program) and in the program it converts the degrees to radians to rotate the circle. That would solve that.

Radians are way better than degrees.. I like the 360 degree thing when working with angles, but mathematically speaking radians are much better.

in Phun.
I was talking about "'object to ground' collision shockwaves"
You know, meteor hit earth=shockwave
Bullet collide with oerson=shockwave
That kind of shockwave, if an object falls, it doesn't just bounce off, or stick to the ground like in the Current Phun. It also should create a shockwave that "shakes" all the other objects.

what about the ability to "script" ways objects interact and work?
also magnets and pre made chains and gears are great too!
what about string with is bendy rectangles.

I'd like magnets... but also 'plug-in' shapes would be nice.
This would allow for gears and anything else the community thinks of.
The plug-ins would be special .phn scenes, placed in a plug-in folder.
They could work just like importing scenes, except you can scale them too.

Custom menus like adding your own options and shapes would be nice. A background picture importer to add a different background besides clouds/sky. Drawing onto background to add notes and whatnot that don't affect objects. Different materials and maybe eventually some sound would be cool. Like add your favorite background track to keep you peppy while you work. Timers to set off actions and other variables to create more complex scenes. Export as .avi or other movie file option or just like a record so you can move around and work while what your doing is saved as a movie! ![]()

I have hard time believing that .avi exporting will be available until Phun is not beta, but great idea
!
Anyways, a bunch of other suggestions for Phun LISTED FROM HIGHEST PRIORITY TO LOWEST PRIORITY:
1. Electron charges. (basically control what kind of charge an object has [positive, negative, neutral]. This will create effects such as lightning, objects sticking to one another, etc.)
2. Fire (definitely a good idea to have *ignitibility* and *ignite* as an option in the drop down menu, so that if there is friction and a spark, or you click *ignite* there will be fire, and the object will slowly disappear*)
3. TouchPad friendliness (obviously)
4. Shockwaves (you know what that is)
5. Melt function (basically, an improved version of liquefy, where the object is liquefied according to its properties [Density, friction, bounciness, color].)
6. Brush function, that allows you to pause [when you release the left button, the white line is still deemed unfinished] so that you can make shapes that are currently impossible [donut, holes, etc...]
Hope it isn't too much I am asking, but those look like great suggestions to me.

They all look non-trivial to implement, to me ![]()

I think way in the future of Phun a PhunOS should be created! You would have like all your shortcuts but the background would be an active Phun window constantly running! Some things from like actual desktop work would interact with the active Phun background. Probably would slow productivity though...

Hah, have fun remembering to fixate every window and icon to your desktop to keep them from falling away ![]()

Good one peepsalot, but I was thinking like a mix of Phun and OS elements for the coolest OS ever!

This may have been mentioned before (I too lazy to read 5 pages of things ><)
My idea is to limit the space you're working in. Phun has a massive amount of space you can use to add things and such but most of it is wasted and un-used (e.g. if i were to make something and then zoom all the way out I would see that I am only using around 1/50th of the space available) so a nice function would be one where you can manually set a limit on the amount of space you can work on so that un-used space isnt using up your computers power (i dont know proper computing terms >.<) this would be helpful for people who are currently struggling to run phun at a decent speed (like me xD)
If there is already something that does this then i am stupid x3

How about a polygon tool? Not like the freehand one we have now, but one that you can do straight edges. Like on Paint you have the tool where you draw a line, then you click and it connects up until you reach the end. I think this'll be really useful when making complex shapes.
(Has this been suggested already?)

There already is a line tool... Use shift when drawing.

Hi there i'm, new ![]()
Phun is the best thing since ever and i'm glad that you/they handing it out for free!
there are some improvements in my mind anyway:
- Option to run Phun as screensaver with your own contraptions without any menus or dialogs (just watch them go)
- speed control option to set to hours/minutes/sec so you can set rotate to one full cycle /hour (i want to create a clock for the screensaver
)
- Extrude one shape out of the other to make donuts and other intresting shapes
- AI import (or .eps) this is very high on my wish list
- smart object (i.e. always face up, always face ..., stick to objects by example color, if colide with object with color than disapear/start motor/ reverse motor...etc) would making walking robots and all kind of weird contraptions much easier and more fun and more chalengeing
- rope
- polygon bezier tool
- Phun 3D ![]()
- more prn
thank you for your time, and have some phun!

Better Fluid Mechanics
Right now, if you have water, you can compress the liquid, which is (almost) impossible to do in real life, as well if you have two objects tightly against each other, then the liquid can still seep between them (more leaking with more pressure, that's fine).

A load menu that is not just a single column. It is too easy to fill up the column, and it becomes unusable as the list of files goes on past the edge of the screen. This is especially troublesome on my 1024x768 screen, and I am continually forced to delete/move/backup many of my .phn files just to keep the list size small enough.
It would also be nice if you could browse other folders.

an explode option like the liquefy option would be really nice
and some gun powder or something similar to make our guns work like real ones

Yeah, the compressibility of water seems to be way too high at the moment.

A layer system would be very simple to implement and would permit much more complex machines as well as solving visual z-ordering and clutter problems. I recommend something similar to photoshop where a tool window shows a list of layers. Each layer has a visibility toggle and one layer is selected as the current working layer. Each object can have its collision set to one of: own layer/all layers/nothing.
I don't like the current fixate system. It's intuitive and cute for simple scenes but quickly becomes tedious and messy for complex ones. It's really annoying when your scene is filled with hundreds of Xs and they constantly get inadvertently selected. It's also a pain to fixate a large number of objects or to fixate objects that you don't want to overlap. I would just have a "join" command which joins all currently selected objects into a single body and a "break" command which breaks up any selected bodies into individual objects. There should be a quick way to select an entire body but you need to be able to select individual objects too so you can set their properties.

What about to ability to export to .swf so you can show it off on-line
And I know phun doesn't use box2d but what about the ability to do the same as above to .phn files to box2das3 flash file

1.) I think you should implement a way to render complex scenes that simulate slowly (i.e. scenes with a lot of water, so that after the first time you run the simulation you can play it back at a faster speed.
2.)subtract geometry tool would be nice (remove material )
3.)include deformable material (such as clay)
4.) make water incompressable
5.) allow for changes to water properties such as viscosity, color, compressability, ect.
6.) add magnets
7.)add tool that will allow for scaling of objects when you make copies of them
8.) add friction / damping options to hinges
9.)add event timers
10.) add assignable keyboard controls to different motors so you can control more than one motor independly.

sometimes, I exit the game because a scene causes too much strain on mu cpu. but when I go and start-up phun again, the cpu-heavy scene got auto saved. it sucks.
