If your computer is from 2006 and under you should buy a new computer.

Re: Graphics Cards

My family needed a new desktop, so we got one from Walmart's website for around 500 (it was short of 500, and then we needed a monitor).  At Best Buy, for around 400 bucks, there was a decent slim Acer box, everything included.  Just look around in Best Buy, Fry's, or even Walmart (though they seldom have any good computers for cheap, but eMachines is pretty good).

Re: Graphics Cards

Buy from newegg, it's cheaper because it cuts out the middle man (walmart, bestbuy).

This: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6883241007

and this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814127412

That's around 550 dollars, a bit more than you asked for but buying 400 dollar computers is a waste of money, after a year or two you will have to replace them, and with this one it should last you 3-4.

edit: Newegg is a trust-able website, I've spent about 1,000 dollars on it and I've always been satisfied.

edit#2: If you don't have a monitor just find a used one.

Re: Graphics Cards

Are you kidding me? a 9400GT? That thing's a piece of Shit. No seriously, it is a piece of crap, but with wires coming out of it. Why not pay the extra $50 and get a 9600, or even a bit more and get the Pro 9800.

Re: Graphics Cards

It's not a piece of shit, you just think it is a piece of shit because you upgrade your hardware every 6 months. Niffirg is looking for a budget computer, why would he spend 20% of what he is spending on a video card?

I read the customer reviews of it. Apparently it can't play Crysis on high settings.

Re: Graphics Cards

Bull Phucking shit

40.46 Frames per second average? That is what RaRa get's on his 285 :-) (when he turn's some of the setting's down, correct me if i am wrong RaRa)
The 4870X2 is near perfectly on Par with the 285, no joke, it can play a lot of game's BETTER than it aswell.

Now, Crysis, that is one unpredictable game. Gameplay and graphics are great. But it was coded shit-House, RaRa, me, Grady, everone know's it. It is as inneficient as all crap, and the Benchmark's can vary insanely!. I can assure you, the 4870X2, will play crysis without a hitch :-) Assuming your not playing on Dual 30" LCD's at max res that is big_smile

"Crysis is a videocard killer, and true enough the game is playable with the HD4870X2 at 1920x1200 on the ASUS MK241 24" gaming LCD - ahhh wide screen gaming, could there be anything better? To be fair, all videocards struggle at these resolutions. " <<<< AT that res, the average FPS was 35 :-) Well playable!
