I have gotten quite a few mails regarding a translation of Phun. The coming beta of Phun will support external translation files, and so I have added a wiki page on how to create these. If you hurry up and create a translation within 24 hours, I will include it in the coming beta.

I sent Polish translation by e-mail.
Polish help file not ready yet, but I hope I'll finish it quickly.

I have some issues that I will try to fix by checking the beta.

Put French translation on the wiki. This is a draft, i have a number of questions that will need the latest beta to be answered. Anyone with an understanding in French is very much welcome to make modifications and/or use the discuss page =)
EDIT : did the same for the help page. And the same suggestions apply =)

Wow, thanks a lot guys! However, I have decided to porspone the new beta until the next week (I just don't have the time to finish it today), so you will all get a bit more time to perfect those translations.

I would make an Afrikaans translation, but I fear it would be a bit of an exercise in redundancy. What about Arabic? Will it be able to display all of the characters?
Offline
I forgot to add the following to the translation files:
Hue = "Hue";
Saturation = "Saturation";
Lightness = "Lightness";
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSV_color_space
PS: As mentioned on the wiki page, only latin 1 characters work at the moment.

Hi,I love this program.I tried to translate phun to chinese,but it seems like chinese characters are not latin-1.So I just translated the helpfile.
It's in this url:

hope it's helpful.![]()

@emilk: I added the HSV translations.
Can you release an early beta to the translators to check their work?

I agree, an early beta would be useful. But it's not the end of the world anyway ![]()
I have a question relative to the character set. latin-1 is supposed to accept French accentuated characters (é, à, etc), but typing them in the console seemingly had no effect, so i created my translation without any diacritic sign. This hampers considerably the understanding of the French language, so is there a way around this ?
Oh, and another thing: the shortcuts are created with the English name in mind (B for Brush, X for boX, D for Drag, etc). Would you consider adding support for shortcuts specific to the language, or is it out of the question?
Thanks a lot for your work, i can't wait for the next version ![]()

Shortcuts don't bother me.. But in Dutch, a lot of phrases are put in alternative order.. Or at least different from English.
So that's why I would like a beta. I assume the engine just puts strings in place, so seeing stuff that translate to master Yoda language won't make me smile.

Yes! Copy the accented thingies from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin_1 (on windows you can paste into the console of Phun to try it out) and they will work. My tip: write the translation file like you want it, then do a search and replace with the "à" etc from the wikipedia page to make sure they will work in Phun.
Sorry guys, no early beta. I got a lot to do tonight, and tomorrow I'm going skiing for a few days. Don't think I'll be slacking off though; it's a work-trip that Kenneth invited me along on, so there is sure to be a lot of Phun planning going on between the slopes and the after-ski. No rest for me ![]()

Ok did that. Any French speaker who wants to double-check is welcome to do so ![]()

Would you ever add support for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin_2 or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTF_8 ?
Offline
I made a romanian translation
hope it will be added.

Emil, please add in the first (your) post the list of actually available translations.
I read all the posts and I think the actual translations are:
Matma rex: Polish Gus: French Faqir: Finnish msvvalverde: Spanish thatfailedlogicgateguy: Afrikaas Thuper: Chinese Link0007: Dutch MasacruTheArcher: Romania SuperSandro: Italiano
Correct?
